Individual Therapy
I provide therapy that goes beyond your diagnosis or circumstance because I believe you are a whole, autonomous person worthy of respect and agency—who, for now, would benefit from someone walking beside you. Because many problems arise from disconnection from ourselves, each other, our communities, and the natural world, I will work with you to help you find connection again while addressing structural and social factors, close relationships past and present, values, core beliefs, thoughts, and symptoms linked to anxiety, depression, feeling lost or stagnant, neurodiversity, and low self-worth. I have a special interest in working with people from complex family backgrounds.
What to Expect
- Through my electronic practice portal Owl Practice, you will review complete and intake forms before your first session.
- Your first session will be 75 minutes. Subsequent sessions will be 50 minutes.
- In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other while we work to understand your needs, discuss what brought you to therapy, and identify challenges and any goals.
- Most people find coming to therapy every two weeks helpful as a starting point, but we’ll work together to find what best matches your needs.
- Virtual sessions will be held via Owl Practice.
- Clients and therapist communication outside of practice will also be held in Owl Practice.
- Fees for the first session are $150. Fees for subsequent sessions is $130.
- Many insurance companies in Ontario cover psychotherapy. Please check with your insurance provider to make sure they cover psychotherapy with a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying).
- You will receive and pay invoices and get receipts through Owl Practice. Payment is due on the day of the session.
- If a session is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice, the full fee may be charged. Virtual sessions are an option if there is a logistics problem with a scheduled in-person session (like childcare, illness, transportation).
- Good therapy needs time, and if you are more than 15 minutes late, this isn’t possible. The session will need to be rescheduled and the full fee will apply.
I am a licensed Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in Kingston, Ontario.
A poet, philosophy lover, and constant beneficiary of the steadying power of nature, I walk the path alongside clients as a guide. Therapy is conducted from a relational perspective through RLT, existential, bibliotherapy, logotherapy, person-centered ACT, IFS, trauma, and narrative therapies alongside a smattering of CBT and DBT. I am currently taking additional therapist certification training in Relational Life Therapy.
I have a special interest in working with people experiencing Complex Trauma.
