Individual Therapy

I provide therapy that goes beyond your diagnosis or circumstance because I believe you are a whole, autonomous person worthy of respect and agency—who, for now, would benefit from someone walking beside you. Because many problems arise from disconnection from ourselves, each other, our communities, and the natural world, I will work with you to help you find connection again while addressing structural and social factors, close relationships past and present, values, core beliefs, thoughts, and symptoms linked to anxiety, depression, feeling lost or stagnant, neurodiversity, and low self-worth. I have a special interest in working with people from complex family backgrounds and people who are Intersex.

Somatics Therapy

I also offer sessions that combine focused somatics work, which uses yoga and mindfulness tools to help up-regulate or down-regulate nervous systems, ground, and create greater connection with body-based cues and self. Clients are encouraged to integrate the somatics practice into their daily lives for greater change. The first session is two hours and includes assessment and initial somatics practice. Subsequent sessions are 1.5 hours and include somatics practice and talk therapy that include the approaches, tools, and techniques used for individual therapy.

What to Expect

  • Through my electronic practice portal Owl Practice, you will review complete and intake forms before your first session.
  • Your first Individual session will be 90 minutes. Subsequent sessions will be 50 minutes.
  • Some individuals prefer/require 90 minute sessions. These are also available to book regularly. If we find you benefit from longer sessions after feeling pressed in 50 minute sessions, we can discuss moving to 90 minutes together.
  • Your first Somatics Therapy session, if chosen, will be 2 hours. Subsequent sessions will be 90 minutes.
  • In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other while we work to understand your needs, discuss what brought you to therapy, and identify challenges and any goals.
  • Most people find coming to therapy every two weeks helpful as a starting point, but we’ll work together to find what best matches your needs.
  • Virtual sessions will be held via Owl Practice.
  • Clients and therapist communication outside of sessions will also be held in Owl Practice.
  • Fees for the first 90 minute Individual session are $215. Fees for subsequent 50 minute sessions is $150.
  • Fees for 90 minute sessions are $215.
  • Fees for Somatic Therapy sessions are $300 for your first session and $215 for subsequent sessions.
  • Many insurance companies in Ontario cover psychotherapy. Please check with your insurance provider to make sure they cover psychotherapy with a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying).
  • You will receive, pay invoices and get receipts through Owl Practice. Payment is due on the day of the session.
  • If a session is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice, the full fee may be charged. Virtual sessions are an option if there is a logistics problem with a scheduled in-person session (like childcare, illness, transportation).
  • Good therapy needs time, and if you are more than 15 minutes late, this isn’t possible. The session will need to be rescheduled and the full fee will apply.

I am a licensed Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in Kingston, Ontario.

A poet, philosophy lover, and constant beneficiary of the steadying power of nature, I walk the path alongside clients as a guide. Therapy is conducted from a relational perspective through RLT, yoga-based somatics, existential, bibliotherapy, logotherapy, person-centered ACT, IFS, trauma, and narrative therapies alongside a smattering of CBT and DBT. I am currently completing extra training in Relational Life Therapy and am completing EMDR basic training in June, 2026.

I have a special interest in working with people experiencing Complex Trauma and people who are Intersex.

With 25 years of experience as a yoga teacher, I hold specialized training in living with chronic pain, deep rest, and restorative yoga, bringing these tools into the therapy room.

As a published poet with BAs in History and English, an MA in English, and an MFA in Creative Writing, I bring a love of poetry, reading, the more-than-human world, and philosophy into the therapy room.

The mother of 3, I live in a busy household in Kingston with my spouse, kids, and 4 pets.
